August camp, retreat set for individuals with disabilities at Buzzard’s Roost

Goodwill’s Camp Dream for kids with disabilities is returning this year at Buzzard’s Roost Nature Preserve in Ross County and it’s expanding to adults and other counties.

Camp Dream will be for those 6 to 18 years old from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 2-6, 2021, while Dream Retreat is for those older than 18 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 16-19, 2021. Individuals in Ross, Pickaway, and Pike counties are eligible to attend. Both will be at Buzzard’s Roost Nature Preserve, 514 Red Bird Lane, except Dream Retreat’s final day on Aug. 20 when we’ll have a cookout, concert, and more with our friends at First Capital Enterprise from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. at 570 Douglas Avenue!

Activities being planned for the camp and retreat include fishing, hiking, a scavenger hunt, arts and craft, music, job skills, and guest speakers. Dream Retreat will also have a cornhole tournament, karaoke, and off-site trips.
We started Camp Dream last year in partnership with the Pioneer Center and the Ross County Park District after the pandemic disrupted summer plans for many families.

Individuals interested in attending should contact their SSA.
