Goodwill of South Central Ohio is excited to announce its upcoming toy drive, which will benefit children six months through four years of age. The drive will be held from 10am to 1pm, December 4th through the 8th at the Ross Goodwill Activity and Training Center (ATC), located at 2451 Western Avenue.
Goodwill’s ATC provides job training and employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities. The toy drive is an opportunity for the center’s participants to give back to and interact with the community. Donations will help individuals participate in a Secret Santa program with the Goodwill Childcare Center located next door to the ATC. Any extra gifts received will be donated to Toys for Tots.
On the heels of a very successful Trunk or Treat event, participants at the ATC met with staff to brainstorm ways they could give back to the community again and the toy drive/Secret Santa event was the result of their efforts. “We love being involved with the community and meeting people of the community and making new friends while we give back,” said one individual. Laura Walker, Direct Service Provider at the Ross ATC, said, “Our individuals are very excited to receive and distribute the gifts that will be donated.”
Goodwill is seeking donations of new, unwrapped toys for children six months through four years of age. Donations can be dropped off at the Ross Goodwill ATC during the drive.
“We are grateful for the generosity of our community in supporting this important initiative,” said Melissa Baxter, Ross ATC Manager. “Your donations will help us bring joy to many children this holiday season.”
