The cliché goes it’s better to give than to receive, but the truth of it is both can feel pretty great especially when life is being particularly challenging. Providing that all-around goodwill feeling is at the core of Goodwill’s Handy Helpers program.
On the surface, Goodwill Handy Helpers is a limited handyman service for those in need of help with small home projects, but its aim is to foster feelings of independence and self-worth. The program provides those with disabilities community employment, community inclusion, supports for those in need, and advocacy through displaying their abilities via interactions with agencies and individuals they may otherwise not encounter.
